Lesson Description

In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch a video and do a listening exercise on short informational video that explores the mental and physical benefits of doing yoga. It includes discussion questions, conversation, and other activities about yoga. Students also learn some important vocabulary terms and phrasal verbs from the video. The grammar exercise features correlative comparisons (the more... / the more...). There are additional speaking tasks, as well as a quiz and review section with a bonus activity.

Video Description

Over 36 million Americans practice yoga. Studies show it can improve flexibility, which in turn can help treat and prevent back pain. Yoga has also been shown to lower inflammation, which is linked to serious issues like cardiovascular disease and cancer. Studies also suggest it might reduce stress by interfering with your brain’s ability to release stress hormones.
