In this communication-oriented Business English lesson plan for adults, students watch a video and do a listening exercise about teamwork and a game called 'Team Words'. It includes discussion questions and conversation activities about teamwork, intercultural stereotypes, and professionalism. Students also learn some important vocabulary terms from the video. The post-viewing section includes activities on vocabulary context usage, as well as quotes from the video and CCQ discussion activities based on vocabulary featured in the video. The grammar activity features the usage of “to be” in the progressive form (being) + [adjective]. There are additional speaking tasks and vocabulary activation included, as well as a quiz and review section.
Team building experts Mary and David Sherwin found that one of the most common reasons teams struggle in the workplace is that they have a fundamental communication disconnect. So they developed a simple team building exercise that enables employees to get on the same page before starting new projects. It’s called Teamwords and it’s helping businesses tackle communication challenges head on.
