Lesson Description

In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch a video and do a listening exercise about smoking. It includes discussion questions and conversation activities about smoking and cigarettes. Students also learn some important vocabulary terms and phrases from the video. The post-viewing section includes follow-up disciussion questions, an activity on vocabulary context usage, and an activity on active vs. passive voice in the present perfect simple tense. The grammar section features the passive voice in the present perfect. There is an additional social issues task as well as a quiz and review section.

Why aren't cigarettes banned around the world? This question comes from Mohammed, one of our viewers who lives in Egypt. We look at what smoking restrictions exist around the world and explore why cigarettes haven't been made illegal.
