Lesson Description

In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch a short video about Lunar New Year celebrations and its traditions, as well as what some of the traditions symbolize. It includes discussion questions and conversation activities about Lunar New Year and traditions. Students also learn some important vocabulary terms from the video. The post-viewing section includes follow-up discussion activities and an activity on vocabulary context usage. The grammar sections feature the usage of the present simple for traditions, as well as 'there is... / there are...' . There are additional traditions tasks and a quiz & review section included.
