Lesson Description

In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch a short cinematic video and do a listening exercise on mounted horseback archery. It includes discussion questions and conversation activities about the sport of archery and horseback riding. Students learn some important vocabulary terms and phrases from the video. The post-viewing section includes activities on prepositions, rewriting sentences, and a quote from the video. The grammar activity features the usage of the conjunction "unless" in second conditional sentences. There is a short trivia quiz about both archery and horseback riding included, as well as a quiz and review section with a bonus activity.

Video Description

To call Lukas Novotny an expert horseback rider paints an incomplete picture. Novotny is one of the world's leading horseback archers. Yeah, you read that right: he shoots arrows on horseback. Now, Novotny is almost single-handedly keeping the tradition alive.
