In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch and listen to a community healthcare initiative that aims to bring healthcare to underserved regions. It includes discussion, conversation, and vocabulary activities about healthcare, health issues, and community health. Students then do some listening/viewing comprehension activities based on the video. The viewing follow-up includes some additional discussion, an activity on a quote from the video, and a matching activity of some of the world's most prevalent health issues. There is an additional research & healthcare planning activity, as well as a quiz & review and lesson reflection included.
