In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch a video and do a listening exercise about quirky Christmas traditions from 5 places around the world. It includes discussion questions and other speaking activities about Christmas and traditions. Students also learn some important vocabulary terms and phrases from the video. The post-viewing section includes a follow-up discussion, a CCQ discussion based on the usage of some of the words/phrases in the video, and a quote from the video. The grammar exercise features a special form of the passive construction in English. There is a quirky tradition follow-up task, as well as additional speaking / writing tasks included.
